One way to have an approachable, serene and elegant bathroom is to go rustic. While setting up rustic bathrooms seems old fashioned, it is actually the new thing in town. Go rustic and go elegant, then you will get impressive results. Use some of the following ideas to totally transform your bathroom
Make it regal
Going rustic can sometimes bring out a royalty look and make you feel like you are bathing in a king’s bathroom. Isn’t that what everyone wants? Now, to make this happen, you can always have a big naturally tiled floor with huge and old patterns. Also, around where you intend to set your bathtub, let the walls be of big exposed stones to emphasize on the rustic design. To incorporate all that, place a wooden traditional stool or stand just next to the bathtub.
Be bold with the colours
There are certain colours assumed to be the only rustic shades, which is not the case. You can go bold with the colours and still manage to remain rustic. Choose a colour like deep green or blue and paint it on that bathroom wall. Make other assets like the mirror of a totally different colour, and make them rustic. With the deep colour, the beauty of these other rustic decors will be loud and more noticeable.
Put together rustic and modern
We are in the 21st century and it’s all about bending the rules. It does not mean if you decide to go with the rustic design then that has to be the order of the day. You can mix it all up. For example, you can get a brick wall, a bathtub with a contemporary finish, boldly tiled walls, and maybe contemporary curtains. Make your bathroom speak different messages.
Play around with boldly and rustically patterned wallpapers
Just like the way you decorate your home reflects who you are, so does the wallpapers you paste on your wall. Get something that has a tinge of life in it, artistic and at the same time bold. This looks especially amazing when pasted next to the bathroom mirror. The mirror should also have a patterned frame, but let it be totally different from the wallpaper and also, it should be of different colour. This way, the effect of the mirror will not be absorbed by the bold wallpaper.
Most of the time when we do not relate rustic to brown we find ourselves thinking of the natural colours, and it is not too far from the truth. This is why going green can sometimes bring out that rustic feel. Place some plants in your bathroom just next to your bathtub or by the window. You can also have your walls painted green and set some naturally finished stool next to the tub, then place a vase on it, with some brightly coloured flowers.
